OVERSEAS MARYLANDERS ASSOCIATION (OMA) GATHERING

Our next 0verseas Marylanders Association (OMA) gathering is scheduled for the weekend of 12-14 June in Durham, North Carolina, and we hope you will be joining us.
Why Durham? It is the retirement home of Ben Massey (UMUC President Emeritus and OMA founder) whose engagement with UMUC over four decades shaped the University during its glory years and whom we honor with this gathering. Durham's repurposed downtown, storied baseball park (immortalized in the movie, “Bull Durham”) restaurants, shops, galleries and many attractions of the Duke campus make it a celebrated destination. Also, both Chapel Hill and Raleigh are 20-30 minutes away.

REGISTRATION
If you are planning to attend the gathering in Durham, NC, please register now at the OMA Website. Click *Durham Registration* in the menu list on the top left side of the Home Page.
The sooner you register, the easier it will be for us to gather accurate head-count information for the welcome reception, meeting refreshments and Saturday group dinner.

ACCOMMODATIONS
You, of course, may stay wherever you wish or just drive in for individual days.
For those who prefer to stay at the meeting location, we’ve negotiated a special OMA members rate (valid until 22 May or until the rooms are taken) with the Durham Marriott City Center of $121/day. PARKING
With its downtown location, the only parking available in Durham Marriott facilities is at the valet parking rate of $12/day. If you wish to locate parking on your own, here is an app that may be useful: http://en.parkopedia.com/parking/durham_nc_27701
FEES
Registration Fee: $25/person. This fee, payable upon your arrival at the Gathering, offsets costs of the meeting space rental, registration packets, name badges, coffee breaks on Saturday and snacks at the Friday afternoon Welcome Reception.
As with previous OMA functions, the Gathering in Durham is largely a pay-as-you-go event. Members and guests pay individually for lodging and meals.

Friday – 12 June 2015
13:30 – 17:30 Registration for OMA gathering in the Durham Marriott City Center lobby (Payment of registration fee)
17:30 – 19:30 Welcome Reception at Durham Marriott City Center. (OMA provides light snacks. You pay for your drinks)
19:30 Dinner on your own. (Information on local restaurants will be in your registration packet)
Saturday - 13 June 2015
10:00 – 12:00 Meeting in attached Durham Convention Center. Agenda will be sent to participants prior to meeting. (Coffee, tea, bottled water served)
12:00 – 14:00 Lunch on your own.
14:00 – 17:00 Meeting in attached Durham Convention Center. (Coffee, tea, bottled water served)
19:30 Group Dinner. (Location to be determined. Pay as you go.)
Sunday - 14 June 2015
Free time to meet with friends, see something of the Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill area. The Website http://www.durham-nc.com provides a helpful introduction to possibilities, including the beautiful Duke Gardens. Information on local points of interest will also be included in the registration packet you receive upon arrival.
